Today, at the University Medical Center Maribor, at the Department of Oncology, we successfully carried out the handover of the Paxman Scalp Cooling system.

It is an innovative technology used during chemotherapy and helps reduce hair loss – one of the most difficult psychological side effects of treatment. The system works by cooling the scalp during therapy, reducing the flow of chemotherapeutic drugs to the hair follicles and thus helping to preserve hair in many patients.

With the introduction of this solution, the integrated support for patients at oncology in Maribor is further improved, as in addition to medical treatment, it also significantly contributes to maintaining dignity, self-esteem and quality of life during treatment.
